Boats are built differently from almost everything else. Even two vessels from the same manufacturer and the same model year will have differences in construction, fit, and layout that make them distinct. A production boat is not a stamped part. It is a handbuilt object that accumulated decisions, variations, and compromises throughout its assembly.
The result is that off-the-shelf solutions rarely fit correctly. A gauge cluster designed for one helm cut-out will not drop into a different hull without modification. An instrument panel that works on a sistership may need to be trimmed, shimmed, or rebuilt entirely to suit your vessel. And unlike a car or a house, the manufacturer that built your boat may have gone out of business decades ago, leaving no source for replacement parts or documentation.
We joke that you can tell a boat's age by counting the number of old equipment holes that have been covered with a piece of teak or a scrap of fiberglass. Every one of those patches represents a task that someone did not have a proper solution for. We can solve those problems correctly, with fabricated components that fit, finish cleanly, and look like they belong.
Whether the job is covering an obsolete instrument hole, fabricating a custom breaker panel for a non-standard space, or building a structural bracket for a new piece of equipment, we design and build it to fit the specific geometry of your boat rather than forcing the boat to accommodate a part that was not made for it.

The Right Material for the Job
Not every panel needs to be aluminum or carbon fiber. Matching the material to the application, the environment, and the aesthetics of the vessel is part of the engineering process. We work across a wide range of materials and select the appropriate one based on the specific demands of each component.
Materials We Work With
- Acrylic and polycarbonate: Clear or tinted covers for instruments and display screens, UV-stabilized and cut to precise tolerances so gauges are readable without distortion
- UHMW and Delrin: Impact-resistant engineering plastics suited to high-wear applications like chafe guards, bearing surfaces, and equipment spacers that need to take a beating without cracking
- Carbon fiber sheet: Lightweight and rigid for helm panels and instrument enclosures where weight matters and the finish needs to look intentional
- Aluminum and stainless steel: Structural panel backing, equipment mounting plates, electrical enclosures, and any application where corrosion resistance and strength are the primary requirements
- G-10 and phenolic linen: Electrical isolation panels and mounting substrates where non-conductive material is required by ABYC or the application demands it
Every panel we cut is dimensioned from direct measurement of the vessel rather than from drawings or specifications that may not reflect the actual built condition of your boat. We do not leave until the fit is clean, the edges are finished, and the result looks like it was part of the original design.
This extends to electrical panels. Custom breaker and distribution panels are one of our most common fabrication jobs. We design the layout, cut the substrate, fit the breakers, engrave the labels, and wire the bus bars to ABYC standards. The finished panel fits the space available on your specific boat rather than requiring that space to be modified around a catalog panel that was not designed for it.
Structural Components
From Small Brackets to Engine Mounts
Custom fabrication is not limited to panels. We design and build structural components across the full range of what a vessel might require, from a small equipment bracket to a reinforced adapter plate securing an engine to a hull that was originally built for a different powerplant.
Structural work demands a different set of material decisions than panel work. Load paths, fatigue cycles, corrosion environment, and serviceability all drive the selection.

The parts database deserves specific mention. Every structural component we fabricate is documented with its dimensions, material specification, and drawing, and stored in our system under your vessel's record. If that engine bracket needs to be replaced in five years, you do not have to hope someone can reverse-engineer it from what is installed. You call us and we cut another one.

Form and Function Together
Not everything we cut is structural. A well-fitted yacht deserves finishes that reflect the care taken in building her, and custom fabrication gives us the ability to combine utility with character.
We can laser cut any emblem, logo, crest, or geometric shape from a wide range of materials including brass, aluminum, stainless, acrylic, and composites. Want your yacht club's burgee cut in brushed brass and mounted on the companionway trim? A custom name plate with a laser-etched logo on your helm panel? A navigational star cut from carbon fiber as a compass rose inlay on the instrument surround? We can produce it.
In most cases the decorative element can be integrated directly into a functional fabrication job. A custom electrical panel can carry an engraved vessel name along its header. A helm instrument surround can incorporate a club or class insignia. The goal is a finished result that looks deliberate and complete rather than assembled from parts.
