San Diego | Marine Electrical & Electronics
Expert marine electrical, electronics, and custom fabrication for recreational powerboats, sailboats, and yachts throughout San Diego County. No compromises.
What We Do
Cut the cord from shore power and eliminate your generator entirely. We engineer solar arrays matched precisely to your vessel's energy profile, giving you clean, silent power whether you're anchored in a quiet cove or offshore for two weeks. Every component is selected for marine-grade durability and installed to last the life of your vessel.
What You Get
Lithium iron phosphate batteries are the single highest-impact upgrade available to a cruising yacht. We design and install complete banks sized to your power demands, built to ABYC E-13 specifications, the most rigorous safety standard in marine electrical. The result is a bank that stores more, weighs less, and lasts a decade.
Why LiFePO4
A modern navigation suite is only as good as its installation. We handle the complete design, installation, and commissioning of your electronics so every device communicates with every other device seamlessly. We work with all major manufacturers and configure each system from scratch rather than accepting factory defaults.
Off-the-shelf solutions rarely fit a yacht the way a purpose-built component does. We design, engineer, and fabricate instrument panels, electrical panels, equipment mounts, and structural brackets tailored to your vessel and your preferences. If it needs to be built, we can build it, for any boat regardless of age or layout.
Materials and Capabilities
Boat electrical systems accumulate problems silently over years of service. Corroded connections, undersized wiring, missing fusing, and deteriorating insulation are common on vessels of every age and price point. We inspect every circuit and component from the battery bank to the bilge pump and give you a prioritized report of exactly what we find.
What We Cover
Every installation we do starts with engineering. Before we touch a wire, we produce a complete system design: a load analysis, a one-line electrical diagram, and a reviewed parts list. You know exactly what is going into your boat and why. At completion, you receive a documented as-built package so your system is fully maintainable for the life of the vessel.
What You Receive
Why Leviathan
Every install is checked before we call it done. We follow all applicable ABYC Standards and Recommendations, because doing it right the first time is the only standard that matters.
The longer your boat sits in the yard, the more it costs you. We respect that, so we show up on time and get you back on the water fast.
We work with you every step of the way to make sure your boat is safe and seaworthy.
What to Expect
We begin every project by getting eyes on your boat. We inspect and photograph your existing systems, take measurements, and identify everything relevant to the scope of work. Nothing is assumed. You get an honest picture of where your vessel stands before a single dollar is spent.
You receive a detailed written quote alongside a clear statement of work. Every milestone is defined, every deliverable is named, and the goals for each phase are spelled out before we begin. No surprises mid-project, no scope creep, no verbal agreements you have to remember.
We keep you in the loop at every step. As work progresses we share updates, flag anything unexpected, and confirm decisions with you before acting on them. Your boat is a significant investment and you deserve to know exactly what is happening to it at all times.
At completion you receive a final document covering every upgrade and modification made to your vessel, including wiring diagrams, component specifications, photos, and maintenance notes. Your system is fully documented so you, a future buyer, or any marine technician can understand exactly what is aboard.
Who We Are
Leviathan Boat Works was founded by a computer engineer and lifelong sailor with 12 years of hands-on experience building, restoring, and refitting private vessels. That background is not incidental; it means we approach every project with both the technical precision of an engineer and the practical knowledge of someone who actually lives aboard and sails their boat.
Our founder has personally designed and built complete electrical systems, restored vessels from the waterline up, and tripled the value of his own yacht through careful, quality-focused work. We bring that same standard to every client project.
